Lisa Colletti

Co-Owner/Instructor

Lisa Colletti is co-owner and school manager for Cloud 9 Flight Training. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and enjoyed a successful career as a professor and surgeon for the University of Michigan Medical School. Lisa is a highly skilled and experienced pilot, with over 20 years flying experience in multiple types of airplanes and gliders, and is endorsed as a formation flight leader, flying a rare Soviet-bloc warbird Wilga. Lisa joined our parent company Cloud 9 Sport Aviation as partner in 1997, and is a Certified Flight Instructor, Advanced Ground Instructor, Instrument Ground Instructor, and Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.

Tracy Tillman

Tracy Tillman

Co-Owner/Instructor

Tracy Tillman is co-owner and maintenance manager for Cloud 9 Flight Training. He holds three engineering-related degrees and a PhD in Education from Purdue University, and has enjoyed many years of flying in conjunction with his career as an engineer, manager, consultant, and university professor. Tracy built his own glider and began flying in 1976 just after high school graduation, and started Cloud 9 Sport Aviation in 1978. He is an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization, a Certified Flight Instructor, Advanced Ground Instructor, and Instrument Ground Instructor. Tracy also flies a warbird Wilga and is endorsed as a formation flight leader.

Kyle Chmielewski

Kyle Chmielewski

Instructor

Kyle Chmielewski is an instructor for Cloud 9 Flight Training. He earned his Private Pilot License at the age of 17, and continued training through Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, Multi-Engine Instructor and Airline Transport Pilot. In addition to instructing, Kyle is a corporate pilot for a large local company, flying as a First Officer in various multi-engine turbine and jet aircraft. Kyle is a highly-experienced and popular instructor--his passion is helping others to become exceptional pilots.

Captain Terry Lutz

Captain Terry Lutz

Instructor

Terry Lutz is an instructor for Cloud 9 Flight Training. He has degrees in Aerospace Engineering from both the University of Michigan and the University of Dayton. Terry has accrued more than 16,000 flight hours in 161 different aircraft throughout his career in general, commercial, and military aviation as a fighter pilot, test pilot, air transport pilot, glider pilot, and instructor. He served in the US Air Force and has been involved in testing and development of many experimental and production engines and aircraft. Terry was an instructor for the USAF and US Naval Test Pilot Schools and is a formation flight instructor expert for this region of the US. His instructional emphasis is on understanding, awareness, precision, and safety.

Deanna McAlister

Deanna McAlister

Instructor

Deanna McAlister is an instructor for Cloud 9 Flight Training. She is a graduate of Lansing Community College and has a bachelor’s degree from Sienna Heights University. She started training at the age of 15, earned her Private Pilot License at 17, and continued training through Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, Advanced Ground Instructor, and Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic. Deanna has been a flight instructor throughout most of her aviation career, in addition to flying corporate freight in Learjets and turboprops. She also worked as corporate aviation mechanic and currently runs an auto repair facility. Deanna is highly-regarded as a flight instructor, and especially appreciated for her ability to make students comfortable while learning to fly.
